How I got my hair to grow back with Vegamour

I have so many emotions running through me as I write this blog post. I am going to share a little back story about my hair loss journey.

In March of 2021, my daughter and I contracted a terrible disease called COVID. I had a horrible time with the virus and actually spent 5 days in the hospital due to low oxygen levels. It took till late May for my lungs to fully recover. You can imagine the stress this disease caused my body. A side effect of having Covid is hair loss. If you have been following me for a while then you might know me for my thick short white hair. Starting in April I noticed that my hair was falling out in chunks. I would take a shower and would literally pull strands of hair from my head. For all of us women, our hair is everything to us. I was terrified of just how much hair would fall out and wondered when would the fallout stop. Of course, there were many tears and mental breakdowns that happened that I never shared with anyone but my family. Plus, I kept thinking of my job which is to be on social media and share all things fashion and beauty. The first thing I decided to do was call my family Dr. and have as many blood tests run to rule out any kind of autoimmune issues. Once I got clearance that all was normal we came to the conclusion that it was a side effect from having Covid. Stress is one of the most common signs of hair loss and once you add an illness it’s like a double whammy. Our bodies go through a tremendous amount of stress to help keep our organs safe. Especially after having a high fever for more than 2 days, your body will go into overdrive to protect what’s most important. Unfortunately, it’s our hair that takes the beating. My inbox and DMs were flooded with similar messages that friends and other women were suffering from the same thing. I knew I had to do something and hopefully use my platform to help as many other women as I could.

The Solution

There are so many companies out there that promote hair growth, but I didn’t want to just put anything on my hair. Especially something that had a ton of chemicals when my hair was already suffering so much.  Vegamour kept popping up on my Instagram page and I decided to reach out to the company to get more information. I spoke with one of their consultants to get a deep dive on their products and since I was having so much irritation to my scalp he led me to try a more aggressive approach which is their new CBD Gro+ line. (I thought what do I have to lose, pun intended). I ordered my first bottle of drops and shared with my followers my story on Instagram to let everyone know that I was going to give Vegamour a try. That same day, I received an email from their PR manager stating that they had heard my story and would like to send me a kit to try all of their products. First, I cried, then I got really excited and started asking all the questions. I wanted to arm myself with as much knowledge and come up with a game plan that would help me but give me results that I could share with you. What I learned was that CBD oil (hemp) was being used to help calm the scalp from inflammation. My scalp hurt so much from the hair falling out and at times would get itchy. All Vegamour products are clinically tested, vegan plant-based, cruelty-free with no synthetic hormones.

I then came up with a game plan and I am really happy to share my results with you below.

Before & After (still to be continued)…

The picture on the left is when I started using the drops (July 19th)

The picture on the right is 1 month after using the products that I will share below and how I used them (August 19th)

What products I use and how I use them

1. Vegamour Gro+ Shampoo and Conditioner

I wash my hair twice a week and use both the Shampoo and Conditioner from the Gro+ line. It is recommended to use the Advanced scalp detoxifying serum on dry hair before going into the shower. Let it sit for 5 minutes, this will help remove any buildup and focus on destressing the scalp. Next, get into the shower and rinse the serum out completely. Next, wash hair with the Shampoo and Conditioner and allow the product to sit for a least 2-3 minutes while massaging the scalp. Be sure to rinse out the conditioner completely as the water should rinse clear.

2. Vegamour Gro+ Hair Foam

Only on the days that I wash my hair, I use the hair foam. Think of the hair foam as your mousse which will give your hair that bounce and fullness that has been missing. Apply the foam to wet hair all through your roots for added volume. The hair foam is formulated with the same active ingredients as the hair drops so there is no need to duplicate. That is why I only use hair foam on the days that I wash my hair.

3. Vegamour Gro+ Hair Drops

On days that I do not wash my hair, I use the Gro+ Hair Drops all along my scalp. I divide my hair into three sections and apply 2-4 drops in each section along the hairline going backward. Then gently massage the drops into the scalp using the Scalp massager tool. It is proven science that a healthy diet, exercise, and head massages all produce blood flow to the hair follicles and will ultimately produce growth. Drum Roll, please… Here is my hair update as of (Oct. 1st, 2021)

Look at all those new baby hairs and how much they have sprouted and are literally all over my head. This picture shows that I was able to get my hair colored and cut and have had my 2nd cut since.

Well… That’s my hair journey and I feel confident that it will only get better from here. I will continue to share my results and will update this blog post as the months go by.

Please note that everyone will have different results using Vegmaour products. It is recommended to use the products for a full 90 days to see results.  Once I hit the 3-week mark, I noticed my hair fallout had stopped. To all the women who are going through something similar, I hope this post can be a glimmer of hope that it will get better and there is a product that is safe enough to use on our scalps to give us that hair we used to have or have always dreamed of having.
